Wimbledon Choral invites you to come & sing Beethoven’s Mass in C. Composed as the successor to Haydn’s late Masses written for the Esterhazy family, the works is rich with examples of Beethoven’s musical experience to date and filled with foreshadowing of how he will continue to develop as a composer. Exploration of this piece is in tandem with Wimbledon Choral’s April concert at Cadogan Hall, marking the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death.
The day will take the form of a workshop. There will be multiple sessions throughout the day with breaks for tea and cake, finishing with a performance for family and friends to join for free. Visit the Wimbledon Choral website for tickets and more information.
